Whether it's the national news channels or a national newspaper or it's your local news channel or paper, it seems all we hear about these days is children going missing. As if that was not the worst nightmare in itself, it gets worse. How? It's the parent themselves that are manipulating the public at large. Again, how? They are claiming that while they (the parent) were sleeping, or what have ya, someone came into their home and abducted their child. It's nonsense folks.
It is not a total stranger walking into these homes in the middle of the night; it is the parent, because they have partied too hard the night before, or the parent that does not want their video game interrupted, or the parent that leaves their prescription medications laying around, or the child born with deficits (whether it be physical or mental), that both parents and professionals neglect to take care of properly, well I think we get the picture.
What is happening? I just do not get what is going on. Are our children that much of a bother that we would rather harm them, or worse yet kill them, and just dump their bodies along side a road or near a cemetery, than take the little bit of time it takes to take care of them?
What is it that is possessing (literally or not) these parents to reach the point of striking their child enough times and/or hard enough that it kills them? Could it be that simple? Is it just as simple as needing their beauty sleep after a night of partying or that they don't want to be bothered during their video games?
Back to the manipulating parents...what do I mean? I mean that the parent does whatever they do to the child then goes back to sleep or back to their game, and later, much later, will call 911 or "rush" the child to the E.R. with a fabricated story about someone breaking into their home, or make up some elaborate story how the child fell off the couch in order to cover the fact they got angry at the child because he or she would not stop crying. These parents are literally preying on those of us that deeply want to help them "find" their child so that they can get some kind of closure and know what happened to the child.
I have to tell you, I am so tired of being manipulated by these parents, which makes me very sad because I want to give them the benefit of doubt that they did anything to harm their child.
It saddens me deeply that these parents do not seek help, either from family, friends, or professionals before they reach the point that they want to harm their own child. They have to know that there is help available, they are not alone in the world. We all get frustrated with our children, but the children do not deserve this.
Children are a miraculous gift from God and we were given these children to love and protect and to raise up to love and fear the Lord Almighty...so why are we killing them? And why are we preying on the sympathy of those that truly care and want to help?
I know I have rambled on in this post, and I know that I (we) can never truly understand why or what would possess a parent to kill their own child, and if you (professional or not) ever think you will understand then you are calling yourself God. And while on that note, if you think that anyone who kills, period, is going to hell, you are also playing God. You have no idea what is in their heart. That person may have accepted Jesus into their hearts many years ago, but have grown apart from Him and are lost. We cannot say they will go to hell, it is not our place to judge what is in their heart. If they accepted Jesus as their Savior then He is still their Savior no matter what they do, yes even kill. He still loves them and it is the Father that will judge them in the end.
So, as the caring, loving person on this side of the fence, what are we to do? We start first with prayer that God will put us in the right place at the right time to intervene before something worse happens. As parents ourselves we know that frustrations can run high and out of control before we even know what's happening, and it is our duty to be the advocate for that child. If you even think that you suspect something might happen, talk to the parent, let them know they are not alone, there are resources in every county in every state...it's better to be safe and keep the child alive and the parent out of prison then to be sorry later that we did not intervene because CPS may come in.
LET'S BE THERE FOR THE CHILDREN!!!!

Big news items
Folks, I am in complete agreement with you that the allegations coming out of Penn State are horrendous. For those of you that are somehow unaware of the controversary surrounding Penn State this week, please allow me to give a brief summery of the allegations.
Apparently some have come forward accusing the former Penn State defensive coordinator, Jerry Sandusky of sexual assult. However, there is more to the story. As if that was not bad enough, it seems as though the sexual acts committed against these children, it was actually witnessed by assistant coach, Mike McQueary, who in turn told coach Paterno but made the choice to keep it quiet.
I just want to say first of all: that we all should keep those that have come forward about these allegations in our prayers, we should also keep their families in our prayers. We should also keep the entire school in our prayers. And yes, we really should also keep the families of the accused and yes even the accused in our prayers.
Please don't ridicule me for saying that, we are actually commanded to pray for our enemies, just as Jesus prayed for His enemies. We do not have to like what they did, but we still have to love them because they are still God's children and He still loves them.
Curse me if you think that will help you in any way, but as for me I will still love and pray for the accused. Even moreso I will pray also for the accusers, please won't you join me in praying for EVERYONE involved?

What I find amazing
I have always found it amazing that when I allow God to control every aspect of my life, it goes so much better! Now I realize that this may not be the case for everyone, but for me it is true.
One area that comes to my mind is...forgiveness. "Unforgiveness is a cancer that eats away at the very soul of a person" (Clinton, 2009)
What is it about forgiving someone? Is it that we think in our mind that this act on our part has "let them off the hook"? In our minds that is exactly what we think. We also think that means we have to forget the infraction. However, that is not the case. What do I mean?
Remember we said that unforgiveness is a cancer that eats away our very soul? Whether we are forgiving someone else or our self, if we make the conscious decision not to forgive whoever then we stay inside ourselves and all the while we let that unforgiveness eat away at our soul.
Forgiving is not forgetting, it is about coming to the realization that you can no longer stay where you are and go on with your life. Forgiving is about moving on so that you can grow. You can grow in your family life, you can grow in your spiritual life, or that you can grow in your work life.
Forgiveness sets you free, it takes the power away from whoever hurt you, again it opens relationships with friends and family, but most importantly with God.
Forgiveness should be worked through with a licensed counselor that has the proper training.

First timer!
Good Morning my friends! For someone that really does not like to write I really am excited about this blog. I have created it with your needs in mind. What exactly does that mean for you?
Simple, I am naturally a helper and I want to help you. How can I help you from here when your there? I can pray for you, I can come along side you to support you in your daily life.
I will have to explain more about this at a later date because I also work outside my home and I go to college. I am working on a degree in Psychology/Biblical Counseling.
I am looking forward to get this out onto the WWW and meeting you all and most of all, helping you!
